Saahas Ke Chaar Adhyay: Profiles in Courage

Our film “Saahas Ke Chaar Adhyay” records the life, struggle and ultimate triumph of four outstanding individuals from diverse backgrounds and different parts of India who braved great odds–such as intimate partner violence, domestic violence, discrimination at the workplace and patriarchal mindsets; to finally reclaim their sense of agency. It is our attempt to honour and showcase stories of people who stood up and took action to counter Gender-Based Violence in India. The main objective of the film was to celebrate the courage shown by these extra-ordinary women and men to not only inspire but also give strength to others who have faced similar forms of violence. The film was released and screened at the WISCOMP Saahas Awards Ceremony 2017 where women and men who have faced or witnessed Gender-Based Violence and have raised their voice against it were facilitated and awarded.
