10 tak

This is a video of the programme 10 tak held on the completion of 10 years of the Gujarat Genocide. The programme was organized by Anhad and other organizations to mark the 10 years of resistance and struggle. The programme had several cultural performances as well as speeches by the Gujarat Genocide survivors as well as activists who worked in Gujarat after 2002.

Short Film on Water for people

Sheohar, one of the most remote districts of Bihar is extremely backward as basic amenities are not available to the people. A large section of the population is below poverty line and they live in extremely difficult conditions. The people of Sheohar don’t even have access to clean water and toilets and that is one of the biggest reasons behind the various diseases the people are suffering from. Water for People an international Non-profit organization has been working relentlessly in various parts of the country so that everybody has access to clean water and sanitation. It brings together local entrepreneurs, civil society, governments, and communities to establish creative, collaborative solutions that allow people to build and maintain their own reliable safe water systems. This film is about the work Water for People have been doing in Sheohar and the changes it has brought about.

Mahilaon Ke Badhte Kadam-Strengthening women through Electoral Process

Mahilaon ke Badhte Qadam (SWEEP) - This film focuses on the SWEEP campaign undertaken by The Hunger Project in 2014-15 in Rajasthan. SWEEP stands for Strengthening Women’s Empowerment through Electoral Process. The objective of SWEEP is to increase the visibility of women through the entire electoral process-as citizens, voters, candidates and electoral officers and agents. The film also looks at the various problems faced by women and how they overcome those problems when they come out to fight elections.

Ek Aaghaaz

Udaipur, also known as the city of lakes is home to a large tribal population which is mostly dependent on forest produce. Samarthak Samiti, an Udaipur based Non-government organization has been working along with these tribals over a period of time so that they not only use this forest produce at their homes but can also take it to the market and make a profit and can become self-dependent. Ek Aaghaz is an attempt to showcase Shuddh honey, natural and organic honey which these tribals are producing for the market. This film is also focusing on how the lives of these tribals have changed since they started working along with Samarthak Samiti.

Ek Koshish

This is a film about a self help group formed by the Adivasi women of Ganjam, Odisha with the help of Access Assist. The film was made with the purpose of explaining to the women in tribal areas how a self-help group can be formed, how a self-help group works, how they can open an account, take a loan etc. This self-help group has proven to be extremely empowering for these Adivasi women and this model can be used for women in other areas as well.

Marching Towards Equality

This film documents the Women’s Reservation Caravan which was taken to various parts of the country in 2010.This caravan was undertaken by various women’s groups, non-profit organizations and various civil liberty groups. The aim of this caravan was to raise awareness about the Women’s Reservation Bill and also create pressure for the passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha.
