Ek Koshish

This is a film about a self help group formed by the Adivasi women of Ganjam, Odisha with the help of Access Assist. The film was made with the purpose of explaining to the women in tribal areas how a self-help group can be formed, how a self-help group works, how they can open an account, take a loan etc. This self-help group has proven to be extremely empowering for these Adivasi women and this model can be used for women in other areas as well.

Marching Towards Equality

This film documents the Women’s Reservation Caravan which was taken to various parts of the country in 2010.This caravan was undertaken by various women’s groups, non-profit organizations and various civil liberty groups. The aim of this caravan was to raise awareness about the Women’s Reservation Bill and also create pressure for the passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha.

Journey to their dreams

Kashmir- ‘Heaven on Earth’. But for some it’s an ironical statement filled with disparity.

Journey to their dreams is a short documentary on widows and orphaned children in Kashmir who struggle to fulfill their dreams and ambition. They are supported by a NGO called Caravan and have its bases on states like Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Kashmir and Assam.

Children who specially lost their father who were the sole bread winners of the family come to terms in losing their home and education and with their families face constant struggles in the society. Educating the orphans of Kashmir and helping them secure a better future along with being close to loved ones is endorsed by Caravan. The documentary covers all the aspects of this program by Caravan, how it provides the special needs to the orphaned children and help them make a name in the society

This is a story told from the eye of a honey collector named Kheema Ram from the Aravallis of Chambua, Udiapur who collects honey by climbing slippery trees

Shuddh Honey AD-1

A parallel story of a young woman jogging to stay healthy and a group of honey collectors running to gather honey by climbing trees.

The pain taken by the honey collectors pay off when they climb the trees in rural areas to collect pure honey, where people in cities consume and lead a healthy lifestyle and this is shown when the women returns home and drinks Shuddh honey.

Kuch na Kaho, Khamosh Raho

From a highly fertile Ganga-Yamuna doab region and one of the most prosperous cities of U.P lies a devastating incident of peace and family shattered in Muzaffarnagar. On August 27^th, 2013, a wave of terror plagued the city creating disputes and violence of the highest nature. This documentary focuses on the riots instigated by the Jat community on the Muslim community influenced by the Sang Parivar which led to rapes and murders and the aftermath conditions of people of that area. The administration and the police never took any action on the perpetrators and kept mum on the issue till the riots were over.

 Brutality is an understatement to these heinous crime committed. Anhad Film shows the plight of the Muslim community which leaves a dark chapter in Indian history. Now people fear going back to their village, with a little glimmer of hope in their stay at relief camps they fight the odds to survive.

Anhad Films was set up in 2008 with the motive of encouraging  the production of purposeful cinema by a group of dedicated film makers who saw films as a catalyst to social change. 'Anhad' which literally means boundless or limitless, correctly reflects upon our ideology which is to create purposeful  films, while setting new frontiers and encouraging fresh approach and creativity in film making. We at Anhad Films believe in thinking out of the box and trying out new and different ideas.
The mainstream has continuously been ignoring the oppressed and marginalized as a result they have no platform to voice their concerns.This neglection of a large number of our population by our media made us come together and work on issues that are the real concerns of our country. We at Anhad Films aims at making films that can be used to fight stereotypes and social bondages that exist around us. It is our belief  that the aim  of cinema is not only to entertain but also to bring  about  a change in society. We believe that films can help in changing attitudes and make a difference,no matter how big or small it is.

At Anhad Films we endeavor to produce films that are innovative,engaging and entertaining.The creative impulse at the studio is driven by the need to work on  ideas that are both dynamic and socially responsible.Our productions are diverse in nature.We have worked on several projects across the nation and have developed a tremendous bank of footage and stories that represent various facts of our country.
The core team of Anhad Films comprises of film-makers with wide-ranging experience in the medium of documentaries,short-films and corporate films.They are ably supported by in-house researchers,scriptwriters and editors.Based in Delhi the studio is a wholly integrated setup equipped to handle the entire film pipeline from pre-production,production to post-production.
Apart from our mainstream engagement in film production,we also conduct workshops for the youth to help them develop comprehensive skills in film making.The seven to fifteen day workshops help in polishing the creative instincts and to help them recognize films as agents of social change.Youth from all sections of the society become a part of our workshops,and engage in the various stages and processes of film production.We also endeavor to hold as many film screenings as possible to reach the widest audience,especially inclusive of people who lack access to the medium of films and towards whom our films are targeted. 
Only a handful of years have gone by since we started out and we have already come up with several films that have guided change in attitudes and opinions on several social problems. We hope that we continue to bring about positive changes in society. It is our belief that with the right mix of youthful energy and experience we will deliver what is expected from us. 

A Dawn Awaited

A small village named "Sarai Khatela" distt.Palwal,Haryana is not even 60 Km. from the national capital, New Delhi, has both Muslims and Dalits living there.
Sarai Khatela lacks even the basic facilities because of Government negligence. Anhad got to know about the conditions of the people when somebody contacted them. They decided to start working there.
They faced a lot of opposition as Anhad also started educating the girls in the area. Its only later people saw that there was good work being done and decided to support "Anhad".
The film is about Sarai Khatela, its people and the work done by Anhad in that area.

Amma Ji

A woman who threw away her burqa at the age of 9, wrote her first book at the age of 69, did her M.A. at the age of 70, learnt Persian so she could get her father's poetry published, spent years under extreme poverty and did not give up.
We are celebrating a woman, her will, her strength, her determination and her vibrancy. We are making a film on Qamar Azad Hashmi also known as Ammaji. It is a film about her life and the never say die attitude that she has had even in the worst of times. A woman who not only inspired others but also gave strength to them and made them better and stronger people. It is a film about the struggle that she and her family had to go through and how they came out of it. It is a life that not only gives hope to people around her to fight against all odds and emerge as a winner
It is a 10 min film which is in hindustani. It consists if interviews by her, her children and her colleagues. We have also gone and shot at some of the houses she lived in and some of the schools she worked in. It is an honest attempt to look at her life and the times that she lived in.

In the Line of Fire

Bhajanpur a quiet and secluded village of Bihar is a Muslim dominant area. In 1984 the Government and the administration acquired a major chunk of land to build a factory for a local businessman. The greed for land didn’t end here as they forcefully blocked the road that connected the village to rest of the town. When the villagers protested against this encroachment the police came down heavily on the villagers and fired upon them leaving several dead and injured. The film is based on a fact-finding report done by a Delhi based NGO called ANHAD.

A Ray of Hope

Purnia and Araria , are extremely isolated districts of Bihar.Purnia and Araria are very backward ans especially when it comes to the condition of women.There is very little freedom given to women and they are still bound by the shackles of patiarchy which has amongst other things led to an extremely  low literacy rate amongst women.

Anhad an NGO is trying to bring a change by giving education to young girls and women and are also training them to make jute products.This work done by Anhad has led to these women crossing barriers in the hope of better future for them.
